One of the best characters on television today is Ron Swanson on Parks and Recreation. There's quite a bit to love: he's a dyed-in-the-wool conservative, he fetishizes meat, he enjoys all things outdoors, he's a woodworker and he seems to dislike prominent displays of emotion in his presence.
So you can imagine what it would be like for him to take two little girls trick-or-treating on Halloween.
Most television shows have at least one Halloween episode. These special installments not only give programs a chance to appear current and in keeping with what audiences are currently experiencing -- they give writers and producers a chance to riff on characters. Usually that means having them dress up, but it can also be like in the scene below (via The Hollywood Reporter).
Check out how Ron deals with having to take guest star Lucy Lawless' daughters out to ask for candy. He might not be doing so well, but he isn't much worse than Andy, who's letting his police training get in the way of things.
