
Garnering a large following over the past decade, Four Tet (aka Kieran Hebdan) is back at it with this year's Pink, as his music continues to discover new territory. A far cry from his ambient beginnings with Fridge, Pink fuses modern dub and dance beats with myriad samples that are frequently modified by trippy effects.
In fact, if the London producer has been off your radar for a while, you might not recognize him on his latest Boiler Room (London) set through the bold, high-tempo dance beats that reign until the 25 minute mark. It is only then old fans might recognize Four Tet's sound as he takes a break from his club stylings. Nevertheless, the set is an excellent showcase of his musical developments and proof that few other than Hebden can make the experimental accessible.
