In an interview at Quebec City’s Festival d’ete, Deltron 3030 front man, Del the Funky Homosapien, gave some thematic background on the trio’s forthcoming album, Deltron Event II.
The long awaited follow-up to the group’s 1999 self-titled release has been increasingly teased at in the past year. The three-man group, comprised of Del, Dan The Automator and DJ Kid Koala, began performing the album live earlier this summer, a hopeful indicator of an upcoming release date.
Describing a post-apocalyptic wasteland where governments no longer exist, Del hints at a future where humans lose control over science, resulting in the destruction of society.
Who knows when the album will actually be released, but the prospect of Del rapping about a Fallout-type world, over some funky Automator beats is exciting enough to make the wait worthwhile.
