I had read that people saw Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek chilling around the latter's hometown of Cincinatti, which makes sense considering their long history of collaborating. But apparently their other pal was able to stay out of sight. That pal I'm referring to, of course, is Dave Chappelle, whose friendship with the hip-hop duo goes back to their first release, 2000's classic Train of Thought. You might remember that the intro to the album was voiced by Chappelle, who was doing his best Nelson Mandela impression.
So with that in mind, it's not terribly surprising to see that the comedian/actor is again hanging out with Kweli and Hi-Tek. What is surprising, though, is seeing him chopping up a Britney Spears sample on an MPC, which you can see in the video below. Could this be a new career path for Chappelle? Personally, I'd rather hear another Black Sheep single.
