Detroit rap ambassador Danny Brown visited London’s BBC Radio 1 for a quick session of “Fire in the Booth” freestyling. The rapper unleashed sqeaky, rapid-paced, and smoothly melodious lines in a typical Danny Brown fashion, with Drake and Earl Sweatshirt beats (among others) as his backdrop. He also gave a shout out to grime veteran Wiley, whom he called a “big homie.”
“Fire in the Booth” is a an ongoing segment on a show hosted by Charlie Sloth, a DJ, hip-hop artist, and TV personality. Although created to “showcase the best in UK lyricism, with the hottest MCs from across the country,” Sloth’s program has guested several big international names in rap, including Vic Mensa, Joey Bada$$, and Kirk Knight.
