Watch Ben Gibbard And Aimee Mann On 'Colbert' (Video)

Ben Gibbard--who maybe now goes by his formal given name--was joined by gal pal Aimee Mann and lad friend Ted Leo when he appeared on The Colbert Report last night. The trio performed "Bigger Than Love" off Gibbard's 2012 solo album, Former Lives. The Death Cab for Cutie frontman also did a solo performance of "I'm Building a Fire," the intimate final track from Former Lives. Watch both videos below, as well as Colbert's interview with the singer (in typical Report fashion, Benjamin gets grilled on everything from his lack of appropriate business attire to his solo record "toss offs"). To conclude the interview, Gibbard basically sums up the folly in asking musicians to talk about non-music topics when he admits to having zero hobbies outside of his profession: "This is all I have to offer." Well played, Benjamin. Well played.
