Here we have one of the more entertaining and innovative ways for a group to provide insight into the recording process. And it's not just some random nonsense, either. These "group and family therapy" sessions by Atmosphere are linked to the fact that their forthcoming record, The Family Sign, is their "most personal and intimate album yet."
As such, they have filmed these pieces with Dr. Ralph Borka as a means of promoting the album and shining some light on the band's creative process. In this episode, all four members display drawings that depict their creative process, which begins with Slug showing off a unicorn/manatee hybrid that he scribbled to explain how he writes his lyrics. And it only gets better from there.
Atmosphere's The Family Sign drops April 12.
