We have heard a lot about The Canyons, mainly because writer Bret Easton Ellis is a Twitter fiend, but we have yet to see a trailer...until now.
Though the film's name has come up a lot (along with opinions about its lead actors, Lindsay Lohan and porn star James Deen), we were never quite sure what to expect with the movie, and this first trailer just jumbles our preconceived notions even more.
Though the clip features no dialogue, it sets up the mood of the film, which is dark. Indie Wire points out that the teaser is constructed in a Grindhouse style--gritty, raw, dangerous. Jarring music plays as we sex, blood and glamour all poke their heads through the 1:11 clip. The movie is meant to play out as a contemporary L.A. noir that explores the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition among a group of people in their 20s, focusing on a chance meeting connected to the past that unravels the characters lives.
