Mercury-nominated Cambridge band Alt-J took their multi-instrumental show to the streets of Paris for La Blogothèque's "Take Away Show." Set to a backdrop of very French imagery--tethered dogs, a plaza littered with cigarette butts, ridiculously attractive couples, outdoor cafes, bottled Perrier--the band comes off as rather quaint. Maybe it's the simplicity of the xylophone, our tendency to romanticize the Parisian routine, or even understated vocals from Joe Newman, but the whole performance has a bit of fairy tale charm. Watch the band play acoustic versions of "Matilda" and "Dissolve Me."
