What's the most ridiculous movie premise you can think of off the top of your head? Here's my attempt: the Wu-Tang Clan's The RZA directs and stars in a martial arts movie co-written by Cabin Fever and Hostel's Eli Roth. The plot follows the exploits of a group of warriors (also played by Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu, Pam Grier and a host of professional fighters and martial artists) as they protect a town called "Jungle Villaige" from an evil force.
Actually, that's a real movie.
The Man With The Iron Fists seemed like it might have been a joke when word was first announced earlier this year. However, it is apparently finished, and it will be released on Nov. 2.
The RZA has some experience in movies. He appeared as himself in a short segment in Jim Jarmusch's Coffee and Cigarettes in 2003, and he's worked on plenty of soundtracks, including that of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill. However, with no time spent behind the camera, it's unclear whether he'll be able to pull this one off. Fortunately, it appears that The Man With the Iron Fists is a pastiche of old kung-fu movies, meaning that it doesn't have to be perfectly executed to succeed.
