Last week, original Smashing Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin quit the Smashing Pumpkins leaving just Billy Corgan as the band's only member. It turns out Corgan can't live without a drummer--he's having an open call to find a new Smashing Pumpkins drummer in L.A. on April 10. Not any rube can apply though--you have to send background info, photos, and performance web links via e-mail to pumpkinsdrummer@gmail.com. There's no guarantee that you'll actually be playing material people want to hear (which, given their recent tours, should definitely not be expected), but still, you could end up in the Pumpkins (provided you can drum and have the right look). How can you justify keeping the name, when 3/4 of the original members are no longer a part of the band?
He should rename it 'Billy and the Fillers'.
