Walter Meego goes voyaging on debut album

Walter Meego is another of those "it's the name of a band, not just one person" groups, like Georgie James and Rilo Kiley. So don't call either Colin Yarck or Justin Sconza, the noisy pranksters that are Walter Meego, "Walt." But do call them on the rise. Walter Meego was recently named one of URB's Next 100 for 2008. The dance-rock duo's debut album, Voyager, is slated for a May 27 release via Almost Gold. The band has toured with VHS or Beta in the past. (When Walter Meego plays live, Yarck and Sconza are joined by third member Andrew Bernhardt.) The group has a couple of upcoming California dates with the likes of MSTRKRFT and Cut Copy, will hit South by Southwest, and then tour this summer with the Presets.
