The Walkmen are currently balancing out recording another album with putting in occasional live appearances. I caught them putting in a one-off here in L.A. the weekend every other band in the known universe was at Coachella. Not that any other band needed to be around, since The Walkmen killed, as always. Is there a moment at an indie rock concert right now greater than when those beginning organ chords and drum beats of "The Rat" fire up? Hard to think of one. Read on after the jump for where you can catch The Walkmen later this month... 6/16 Chicago, IL - Taste of Randolph Street 6/22 Ottawa, ON - Capital Idea Festival 6/24 Indianapolis, IN - The Vogue 6/25 Cleveland, OH - The Agora Theatre and Ballroom 6/26 Detroit, MI - The Majestic 6/28 Calgary, AB - Sled Island Music Festival
This is one of those bands - no matter how many times I've seen them - when I hear they're coming I buy tix. They're that good live...
BTW
i was never that into them, couldn't figure out what the big deal was, and then i saw them live and i realized why people loved this band. i very much agree.

I've heard from several different people that they're assholes. Is this true? They put on a great show and are nice and Christmas-y on record, either way.
