Often, when you hear that some artist has been sued for some massive monetary sum, you can expect the final verdict to be nowhere near that total. That is apparently not the case in Atlantic isles: Vybz Kartel was found guilty of skipping a concert in the Turks and Caicos in August, 2009, and has been ordered to pay a whopping $15 million in damages. Apparently the promoter spent a ton of money to promote the show, get the island ready for Vybz, and for tons of other stuff.
Now, is it likely that Vybz will actually pay that much? Probably not, given that he's currently in Jamaican jail on murder charges. But still. [DS]
