VMAs Change Time For Obama's Speech

Well, it's not exactly Bill Clinton on Choose or Lose in '92, but MTV is at least aknowledging the presidential race this year by moving the time slot of the 2012 Video Music Awards. Spin reports that MTV made the decision to move the awards up one hour because of a fear of a major viewer loss from competition with Barack Obama's candidacy acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention. 

Make no mistake, The VMAs are the opening act on September 6. The awards will run from 8-10 PM, with the convention beginning at 10. [Photo via Lisa Jack and M+B Gallery]
