Vivian Girls, the latest noise-pop sensation coming out of Brooklyn, have begun a tour in support of their self-titled album, which will be re-released on Oct. 7 for In The Red (home of the Dirtbombs, former home of Jay Reatard). Cassie, Katy, and Frankie play fuzzed out guitar rock with a throbbing punk heart, but there's sweetness and light, too: the three Vivians sing beautiful girl-group harmonies that seem to angelically rise out of the din. Comparisons range all over the place: the twee-pop of The Vaselines and K bands like Young Marble Giants, the squall of My Bloody Valentine and The Jesus and Mary Chain, the vocalizations of The Shangri-La's and 1960's Spector bands. Considering their eclectic lineage, these women actually construct an individual sound that's definitely something different in the indie scene today. Tour Dates:
