One of the best things about Will Ferrell's now-classic "More Cowbell" sketch from SNL is that Chris Parnell, Jimmy Fallon, Horatio Sanz and Chris Kattan's ridiculously mustachioed get-ups weren't all that far away from what the guys in Blue yster Cult actually looked like. BÃÃC was probably the archetype of the old-schoolers whose image just wasn't made for the MTV age. Just look at them in this video for the otherwise righteous hard rock track "Joan Crawford." They look like the kind of guys your parents told you were going to lure you into their Oldsmobiles with a bag of Tootsie Rolls. And the pubescent Catholic school girls standing next to the pool aren't helping. Given the lyrical subject matter, wouldn't it have made more sense to have filmed this in a graveyard, or at least some old abandoned factory?
