Videos: Fujiya & Miyagi - "Ankle Injuries" (Two Flavors)

The promotional train for British krautrockers Fujiya & Miyagi's acclaimed Transparent Things album keeps on keeping on. Just this week we were treated to the new video for that disc's standout jam, "Ankle Injuries". Now, before you start commenting away at how the pictures from dice visuals of this clip are awfully reminiscent of a certain Michel Gondry directed White Stripes video, let me just say, I know. You'd think that little sticking point would have been a disqualifier at the treatment stage. If you can push it from your mind somehow, you might still find it neat on a purely aesthetic level. There's definitely a higher level of soccer here, so its got that going for it.

Originality sticklers have a choice option B. This clip, recorded at New York's Fearless Music earlier this year, is perhaps an even crisper take of the track. Plus there's the giddy novelty value of older, white, balding musicians making, wait for it, music inspired by German records from the 70's! What will they think of next?
Stumble It!
