How odd to see Spoon up on the Saturday Night Live stage. Spoon has been the little band that might break big so many times down through the years, yet still remains not as widely known as other recent SNL indie rockers the Shins or Arcade Fire. "The Underdog" still seems shambolic when done live, not as fully fleshed out as the recorded version of the song. But the band handles it well here.
