The video for Spoon's new single, "The Ghost of You Lingers", doesn't go a very long way towards making the surprisingly minimal track more palatable to the masses. The blinking lights, passing cars, strobe lit bare tree limbs, vicious styrofoam ball hookings, and dodgy pharmaceuticals on display make the song seem more tortured and inscrutable if anything. In service to the song's aesthetic it's somewhat fitting, although definitely a confusing opening statement for the band's impending Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga.
Also some free advice, for Britt. If your keys start melting, you might want to stop hammering out that same piano refrain.
