Video of Michael Jackson Pyrotechnic Accident on 1984 Pepsi Commercial Shoot

Us Magazine has footage that provides a clear look at the exact sequence of events leading to the 1984 pyrotechnic accident that caused second and third degree burns to Michael Jackson's face and scalp. The video shows two takes of a simulated concert that were to appear in a Pepsi commercial -- an early, successful take in which the explosion takes place exactly as planned, and a later take, when the pyrotechnics are set off too early and set fire to Jackson's hair. In the final frames, there is confusion as the crew runs to put out the flames, and a stunned Jackson is shown being led offstage. The accident purportedly resulted in Jackson's subsequent addiction to painkillers.

This is, to be frank, not a video for the faint of heart. [US via Huffington Post]
