St. Stanislaus Elementary School in Winona, Minn. held what is apparently their annual lip-syncing contest. And thanks to the smooth (criminal) moves of one 9-year-old boy, the contest has made national headlines. It turns out that the kid was suspended after he danced, lip-synced, and crotch-grabbed to Michael Jackon's "Billie Jean." The school's principal remarked that his performance was an example of "gross misconduct" and said that there were grounds for suspension.
The principal also sent out the following message out to the families, staff, and faculty:
"On behalf of the Winona Area Catholic Schools, I would like to thank all the students, teachers, parents, and friends of our school for your support of our Lip Sync contest. So many people worked incredibly hard to make it a great event. We did have one act that was clearly inappropriate. I want to extend my apology for that situation."
The boy's mother countered that he had performed similar routines the past two years without getting in any sort of trouble. Not only that, but apparently all the acts had to have their performances approved before they could do them in public. Christ (no pun). Watch a clip of the dance below. [Nerve]
