Video: Neil Young, Coldplay Honor Paul McCartney At MusiCares

After (finally) getting his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and then performing most of Kisses On The Bottom live in Capitol Studios, Paul McCartney made his way to the MusiCares event on Friday night. It was there that he was named the 2012 MusiCares Person of the Year. But he didn’t just receive a fancy award and plenty of cheers from the celebrity-filled audience.

McCartney also performed several tracks from his (and the Beatles’) discography, which was followed by a slew of huge artists performing their own takes on his classic material. This included Neil Young and Crazy Horse tackling “I Saw You Standing There” and Coldplay doing “We Can Work It Out.” Oh and Katy Perry performed “Hey Jude.” Blah. You can watch snippets of all those performance and others in the video below. [CoS]
