Video: Menomena "Rotten Hell"
We here at Prefix sure love us some Menomena, and the love affair continues with this choice video clip for "Rotten Hell" from the Portland band's second disc, Friend and Foe. Directors War & Julian go the literalist route, staging a massive, Braveheart-style cafeteria food fight to capture the essence of the lyric - "Wading through this mess together/Hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder/Some may stumble, some may fall behind." It's a fine piece of cinema - my favorite detail is the shot of the milk and the spaghetti flying past each other - rendered in slow motion for maximum impact.
