Video: LCD Soundsystem on Letterman

James Murphy probably should have done this before his ill fated quest to top the pop charts, but better late then never. While visiting the Letterman show last week to promote his killer new album, Sound of Silver, James and crew played a knockout version of its lead single "North American Scum" that would have been good for a few sales at least. Be-scarfed and bedheaded Murphy gets a helping hand from the CBS Orchestra horn section (as well as some group clapping), providing a wall of sound fierce enough to stop the people out in TV land from thinking, "Wait, what did he just say about Christians?"

It debuted at 46 on the Billboard chart, which is by far their highest entry (the first album never cracked the Top 200) but still far short of his half hearted "make me number 1" campaign.
