For karmic atonement after forcing some Fergie on the unsuspecting Prefix faithful, I give you a sweetly beautiful video for one of the year's most sweetly beautiful songs, Gui Boratto's "Beautiful Life". The strains of soothing breeze carried electronica are matched to scenes of run of the mill domestic bliss in the Kompakt artist's native Brazil. By the clip's end, the happiness of its subjects remains firmly intact, but the context of that happiness is cleverly subverted. 80's fans probably suspected as much. Those subliminal New Order guitar lines are seldom a signal for uncomplicated satisfaction.
great song on a great record.
