With the release of American Idiot, the gents of Green Day began their metamorphosis from punk-pop legends to outspoken social commentators. The transition continues: as we reported earlier this month, Green Day recently covered John Lennon's "Working Class Hero" for a new tribute CD called Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign To Save Darfur. This video captures Green Day performing the song as part of the American Idol finale last night.
