Video - Great Lake Swimmers, "Backstage with the Modern Dancers"

Here's a lovely looking video for the equally beautiful Great Lake Swimmers song "Backstage with the Modern Dancers." The songs comes from their arresting new album Ongiara, which inexplicably has yet to get a release date in the U.S. (Hint hint: it's available on download sites like iTunes and eMusic.) The video seems to be one long tracking shot a la Altman, but I suppose those can be faked these days with digital manipulation.

The album is being released in May. I forget the exact date. The original release date was a Canadian one which is why it looked like it got pushed back. This is one the most underrated bands of the past few years and Dekker is one of the most underrated songwriters around. Playing his albums will get you a girlfriend (assuming you play it around a girl). He's that good.

Hey! There are no crickets on this track! Did he finally record in a studio this time 'round?

Everywhere I look just says "will be released in the U.S. in May" but doesn't give a specific date or label.

In times like these just having a month is pretty good, no? Haha. There have been some records I am still waiting for release dates that were supposed to be out up to two years ago!
