I sense a certain seafaring theme to some indie-rock videos from this week. On this latest clip from the Fiery Furnaces, it's hard to tell if the blurriness is just YouTube being YouTube, or if director Moses Berkson purposefully wanted the video to look a little grainy, to give it the feel of a long-lost '70s home video. Because the song's big rock riffage certainly sounds straight out of the stadium-size '70s, recalling even late-era Zeppelin. At least in the song's beginning, that is; if you know The Fiery Furnaces music at all, you know a song from the band that stretches over six minutes is going to cover a lot of sonic territory, which "Navy Nurse" does.
