Major hat-tip to Prefix reader/Twitter follower @IUsedToGetHigh for pointing us to this stunning live performance by Bon Iver at the AIR Studios in the U.K. Rather than bringing out the full band for a fully fleshed-out gig, it’s just Justin Vernon and Sean Carey running through four tracks from their band’s discography and a Bonnie Raitt.
As such, merely calling this “stripped-down” feels like an understatement, because, really, it’s about as bare-bones as it gets. The performance relies solely on Vernon and Carey’s gentle vocals and piano playing. That’s it. As you’ll see, however, that’s all they really need. You can watch the 4AD/Jagjaguwar session below. It’s a stunner.
