In the new video from Blonde Redhead's album 23, Me and You and Everyone We Know auteur Miranda July is called upon to strike one pose for each second of the track's run time. That's over two hundred poses, clockwatchers. Director Mike Mills gives her a break by drawing deep focus to varying hand positions, but we'll give her the benefit of the doubt. In deeper question is whether or not this whole endeavor is as entertaining in practice as it is interesting in theory. I'd say no on the whole, but there are a few moments when the position to position segways seem to echo the movements in music and Ms. July's mostly still form achieves a bit of gawky grace. So uh, watch for those.
