Video: Bat For Lashes "What's a Girl To Do"
Bat For Lashes' debut album Fur & Gold has been out since September in the UK, long enough for the trans-Atlantic buzz wave to generate some momentum in advance of the July 31 US release. This video for "What's a Girl To Do" should help things along, as it's totally rad. BFL brainchild Natasha Khan is gorgeous if you didn't know already, and she's got all sorts of Donnie Darko-inspired bunny head wearing BMX riders along with her to inject a sly sense of humor in the otherwise muy dark proceedings. It's a nice fit with the song, which splices plaintive Tori Amos ponderings and consciously retro "Leader of the Pack" - style spoken word. Consider your appetites whetted.
