Dance-rockers VHS or Beta are readying their next album, Bring on the Comets, for an August release on Astralwerks. (This apparently despite earlier rumors that Astralwerks was set to ax any North American bands on their roster.) The band, now down to the trio of Craig Pfunder on guitar and vocals, Mark Palgy on bass and Mark Guidry on drums, have been working on Comets with producer Brandon Mason, who has also served in the studio for David Bowie and the Secret Machines. The band is expected to announce tour dates soon.
