VH1 To Produce TLC Biopic

Instead of just relying musicians to tell their stories via talking head interviews on Behind the Music, Vh1 is expanding into an untapped market: the scripted biopic. That's right, the channel has decided to start working on biopics produced for television, the first of which will be a biopic of TLC. 

TLC are a pretty good candidate for biopic treatment--they were the number one female group of all time for a stretch in the '90s, and were screwed over by their record label--and they have the tragedy angle with Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez dying in 2002. 

The TLC biopic is expected to start casting and filming soon, followed by a full series of similar biopics. [VIBE]
