In preparation for the upcoming Hip-Hop Honors show, VH1 is premiering two new programs devoted to hip-hip: The 100 Greatest Hip-Hop Songs and Vh1 Rock Doc: NWA: The World’s Most Dangerous Group.
The countdown show is pretty self-explanatory, and here’s hoping this is number one when the five-night show kicks off on September 29. The documentary on NWA, written by Mark Ford, looks back at the effect NWA had on culture and hip-hop, and features interviews with Ice Cube, MC Ren, Dr. Dre and others.
The VH1 honors things are pretty good for both rock and hip-hop (most of the time). I know De la Soul is being honored that night they have to be hands down my favorite rap group Beastie Boys come in very very close.
