VEVO Made $150 Million (!) Last Year

Just when it seemed like there was no way a music video company could make any money, due to the ridiculous availability of music videos on thousands of websites, apparently VEVO’s experiment of forcing you into one music video site from YouTube actually worked. The company took in $150 million last year, largely thanks to advertisements, and the site averages a whopping 3.5 billion views a month. Seriously. The CEO sat for an interview over here. He also says that the company has no plans to launch a real TV channel at this point, so, there’s still no hope for us wishing for a real return of music videos on TV. [AllThingsD]
