Kanye Vents Aggravation With ‘Today Show’ Appearance Via Twitter

Kanye West has quickly established himself as one of the most entertaining and open celebrities on Twitter, tweeting about everything from his upcoming record to his wardrobe choices for the day. While for the most part Kanye’s Twitter persona is lighthearted and amusing, recently he used his account to lash out once again at the entertainment media he feels has unfairly portrayed him.

On Tuesday night, Twitter users who follow Kanye were treated to a barrage of tweets attacking how the rapper’s recent appearance on the “Today” show was conducted.

“I went up there to express how I was empathetic to Bush because I labeled him a racist and years later I got labeled as a racist,” Kanye claimed via tweet.

But despite the rapper’s apparent good intentions, Kanye claims that the “Today” show and host Matt Lauer were looking to manipulate the interview.

“While I was trying to give the interview they started playing the ‘MTV’ under me with audio!!!!!!” he wrote before launching into a stream of frustrated tweets. “I don’t mess with Matt Lauer or the Today Show … and that’s a very nice way for me to put it! … HE TRIED TO FORCE MY ANSWERS. IT WAS VERY BRUTAL AND I CAME THERE WITH ONLY POSITIVE INTENT … I feel very alone very used very tortured very forced very misunderstood very hollow very very misused … I don’t trust anyone but myself!”

The interview with Matt Lauer has yet to air, so it’s impossible to judge the veracity of Kanye’s claims. Still, for an artist who has already expressed considerable frustration in his interactions with the media, this can only further strain relations. [MTV News]
