Van Halen Recording With David Lee Roth, Cherone Nation Bereft

After over twenty-five years, there will finally be a new Van Halen album with David Lee Roth on vocals. Details are sketchy at this point, but both the band’s manager, Irving Azoff, and its publishing company have confirmed that the it is working on new material. The band’s last proper album was the Gary Cherone-fronted Van Halen III in 1998, but Roth returned on a well-received 2008 tour. There’s also no word on whether Michael Anthony will be back for a full band reunion, or fans will be forced to debate the merits of “Van Wolfie.” [Spinner]
