Vampire Weekend tour dates announced
With all the hype built up towards Vampire Weekend, and inevitable backlash to that hype, it's right about time that the inevitable backlash to the backlash should start up. After wrapping a summer tour tonight in Hawaii, Vampire Weekend will continue to support their highly successful self-titled debut in September. The following tour dates have been announced:

09.05 Portland, OR: Crystal Ballroom
09.09 Louisville, KY: Headliners
09.10 St. Louis, MO: The Pageant
09.11 Lawrence, KS: Liberty Hall
09.13 Morrison, CO: Monolith Festival
09.15 Las Vegas, NV: The Joint
09.16 Pomona, CA: The Glasshouse
09.17 18: Los Angeles, CA: The Wiltern Theatre
09.19 San Diego, CA: Street Scene
09.21 San Francisco, CA: Treasure Island Festival
09.23 Tucson, AZ: Rialto Theatre
09.24 Tempe, AZ: Marquee Theatre
09.27 Austin, TX: Austin City Limits Festival
It's pretty left coast heavy set of dates, suggesting the band's legacy extends far beyond the preppy Ivy World of the Northeast. How Vampire Weekend will figure in the end of year album polls is going to be an interesting story to follow.
