If you caught Pineapple Express this weekend (I’m betting you probably did, it’s number two at the box office), you had the opportunity to see the trailer for Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist, a new indie rock-centric movie starring Michael Cera and Kat Dennings (of 40 Year Old Virgin).
The movie’s soundtrack features indie stalwarts like Band of Horses, the Shout Out Louds, and Devendra Banhart, but is also slated to feature a brand new track from a little band you may have heard of, Vampire Weekend. But that’s not all; Vampire Weekend recorded the new song, “Ottoman,” with Mark Mothersbaugh of Devo, who oversaw the soundtrack.
The soundtrack is due out on September 23 via Atlantic, and the movie is out October 3.
Here’s the track list:
01 Chris Bell: "Speed of Sound"
02 Devendra Banhart: "Lover"
03 Bishop Allen: "Middle Management"
04 Vampire Weekend: "Ottoman"
05 The Dead 60s: "Riot Radio"
06 Takka Takka: "Fever"
07 The Submarines: "Xavia"
08 We Are Scientists: "After Hours"
09 Band of Horses: "Our Swords"
10 Army Navy: "Silvery Sleds"
11 Richard Hawley: "Baby, You're My Light"
12 Shout Out Louds: "Very Loud"
13 Paul Tiernan: "How to Say Goodbye"

That's an unlikely paring, but all you need to say is "Michael Cera" and you can see me there.
