"Now, if you'd all be so kind as to step past the Poor Clare's Reliquary, and turn left at Sir Edward Burne-Jones' 'Dorigen of Britagne,' we come to the freakishly large tongue..." Visitors to London's famed Victoria & Albert Museum will be hearing some variation on those directions in the future, as the museum has just purchased the original artwork for the Rolling Stones' legendary lips-and-tongue logo for the bargain-basement price of $92,500.00. The iconic image was designed by John Pasche, and was first used on the Stones' classic 1971 album Sticky Fingers. Now it's legit British history, just like the Stones themselves. Hey, speaking of which, couldnt the V&A have made some kind of package deal to include Mick and Keith themselves along with the image? They wouldn't require much upkeep, just a martini every lunchtime and the occasional dusting-off when it's time for another tour...
