U.S. CD Sales Up For First Time In 7 Years

It appears that vinyl sales aren't alone in being on the rise lately. An article in the New York Post indicates that CD sales in the U.S. also increased last year. According to the report, album sales rose by 3 percent in 2011 -- the first time the U.S. has seen an increase in this area since 2004. Can you guess the biggest reason for it? Yeap, that's right, Adele's 21, which pushed 5.8 million copies and intrigued listeners so much that nearly 1 million copies of her debut, 19, were sold. Pretty nuts and not too bad for the record industry either. Not great, but not bad. [TDS]
