Untouched first generation iPods selling for $500

As resurging vinyl sales have taught us, people love nostalgia. But apparently some people are willing to plunk down serious coin (say, $500 large), to feel like it’s 2001 again, by buying an untouched first generation iPod. Apparently the things have been going for $500 on eBay, $100 more than the original price.

Why someone would pay that much for an older iPod is debatable, but it likely has to do with it being cooler to own one of those than to be buying a new one every year. [Gizmodo]

I actually kept the iRiver that was dubbed the iPod killer from years ago in a sealed box. That was actually my favorite MP3 player.
