University Professor Linked To Pussy Riot Blood-Scrawl Murders

Last weekend, gruesome news surfaced about a double-murder in Kazan, Russia that involved the words “Free Pussy Riot” scrawled in blood on a wall next to the victims. Today, Igor Danilevsky is being held in connection with the homicide.

According to The Guardian, the university professor allegedly wrote the slogan to make the murders seem as if they were part of a ritual killing. The victims were Danilevsky’s 38-year-old partner and her 76-year-old mother.

Supporters of the Free Pussy Riot movement believed this act was an attempt to strike against them. One of the band’s lawyers, Nikolai Polozov, tweeted, “What happened in Kazan is horrible. Pussy Riot was always for nonviolent protest. This incident is either a horrendous provocation or [the work of] a psychopath.”
