To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of Nirvana's Nevermind, Universal is remastering it, and releasing two deluxe versions of the album. The larger set will contain the album; four discs worth of demos, B-sides,"boombox" recordings of "Smells Like Teen Spirit," "Come As You Are," and "On A Plain," and the Devonshire mixes of the record by Butch Vig. In addition, the set will contain a DVD of Kurt Cobain's 1991 Halloween show at the Paramount Theatre. If the eventual price tag on that might be a little out of your price range, there will also be a two-disc set that features the remastered album, selected B-sides, boombox rehearsals, and BBC sessions. And if CDs aren't your jam, Universal will also be putting the two-disc set in a four LP vinyl version. All the sets will be released on Sept. 27. [Spin]
Kurt Cobain changed my life with his music- I only wished he could have stuck around to make more. I paid homage to him on the anniversary of his death with my portrait of the grunge legend on my artist’s blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/04/in-memoriam-kurt-cobain-and-lane-staley.html
