Unable to Elect a President, Conservatives Switch Voting Focus to American Idol

First of all, I will admit to watching a little American Idol. If nothing else, I'm grateful to the show for throwing a little work Kenny Rogers' way and bringing Stevie Wonder back to prime time television. Last night, though, an insidious trend about the show's audience finally crystallized. American Idol has become the last venue where conservative America can make their voices heard, and token interesting contestant Adam Lambert might lose because of it. While the Idol conspiracy theorists will no doubt posit a little vote juggling to amp the drama by having front-runner Lambert land -gasp- in the bottom three, closer to the truth is that the show's viewers are picking what they like. And what they like, apparently, is the saccharine tones of church music director Danny Gokey instead of the theatrical, androgynous song stylings of Lambert. Though the voting block may think it is doing a service by saving the young ears of the United States from the totally fabulous album that Lambert would make should he win, something tells me that he might end up having the last laugh. While Gokey will probably end up with dismal sales figures being  trotted out on the program a la Taylor Hicks, Lambert's career ceiling is much higher. In fact, he should wait until he meets Slash (the celebrity mentor next week), quit the competition, and be the new frontman for Velvet Revolver. I heard they're looking.

Stumble It!

INSANE. I'm in singapore and I can't vote for Adam Lambert, so all I can do is pray like judgement day is coming. BUT PLEASE, those of you who have the power to vote, don't jjust sit on your asses and let the biggest tragedy in the entertainment industry that ever may happen actually happen! Vote Lambert! He's the musical demi-god we've all been waiting for and he totally deserves to win this. Adam is the reason I watch american idol. Adam is the reason I watch TV. Adam is the reason why I believe God exists. Don't take that Adam away from the victory he so rightly deserves. VOTE ADAM LAMBERT. Its now or never, america. Peace.

Don't worry, angryindeed; a lot of us in the US get it and are voting like crazy! I agree, he is what we've been waiting for! I never realized how apathetic I had become about music until Adam Lambert. No matter what happens on Idol, he's gonna rock the world!!!!

@monterocks

Smokey Robinson who happen to be one of the premier songwriter/singers in the music industry gave Adam a standing ovation for his rendition of 'Tracks of My Tears'. Gary Jules praised Adam's rendition of 'Mad World' and Vince Neil said Adam's 'If I Can't Have You' was best performance that night. Obviously they can recognize Adam's talent and artistry. I trust the professional musicians more than you.

Close your eyes and listen to the studio version of Feeling Good..omg that guy can sing!! The live versions give you the exciting, performance side of Adam but the studio versions give you all his vocal glory. The arrangement he did on the Born to be Wild track was awesome! He turned a worn out version of a classic into an fierce electro, pseudo dance song..and it rocks! Talent..Adam has it in spades like no one I've seen in years and I have a hard time pinpointing where all the hate for him comes from. It would seem too easy to say it's jealousy but, I have to say, there is a lot of bitterness and resentment in things said by those who don't him. And saying he can't sing doesnt boost your credibility..you'll have to come up with something better than that because the boy has a rare, well trained countertenor voice and knows how to use it.
