Songs like "Automatic" and "Daughter" have brought much-deserved attention on UK band Yuck, marking them as a group with a penchant for beautiful, minimalist tracks. Those impressive works, and their performances opening for Modest Mouse and Pains of Being Pure at Heart brought them to the attention of the folks at Fat Possum, who signed the band.
According to the label, Yuck will be releasing their debut full-length early next year. In the mean time, the band will be releasing one single a piece for the U.S. and their homeland. Those stateside will see the "Georgia" single on Nov. 23, while across the pond they'll have the "Rubber" single come Nov. 1. Both singles will come with the excellently titled b-side "The Base of a Dream is Empty." For a rougher, but still typically melancholy view on the band's sound, check out the video for the garage-y "Georgia" above.
Really, really been loving this band. Met a friend of the drummer's, the other week; apparently his mother isn't too pleased with his career choice. Guess Fat Possum doesn't mean much to the baby boomer set...
Tell yuck they are going to get killed, all of them
