Randy Couture is 49 years old and is most likely in better shape than you and I. The retired former UFC Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight champion also has a budding film career. Having starred in a handful of major films including upcoming The Expendables sequel , the former MMA star doesn't really need to get back into the octogon to make a living.
But if there were to be any reason why he'd come out of retirement, it would be to fight the one and only mythical figure himself, Steve Seagal.
While doing rounds to promote The Expendables 2, when asked if he would come out of retireument by G4TV’s Attack of the Show he stated that:
"No, I think everything I set out to do, I managed to pull off, and it has been an amazing journey for 15 years. Not unless (Steven) Seagal wants to sign up."
In recent years, Steven Seagal has been making appearances in the MMA world and claiming star fighters such as Anderson "The Spider" Silva and Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida as his pupils. In fact, Seagal has taken credit for the jump front kick by Machida that knocked Couture into retirement last year in Toronto.
And if this fight were to happen? It'd pit a former UFC champion of multiple weight divisions verses a self-proclaimed god. Who would you be betting on?
The Expendables 2 will be released this Friday, August 17, 2012. It brings together an all-star including Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Terry Crews and Liam Hemsworth.
