The BBC is reporting that U2's 360 Tour still hasn't turned a profit, even though it has had over 205 million Euros in ticket sales, due to the fact that it costs more than half a million Euros each day in running costs. That's some serious cheddar. I can relate though; my tour costs 650,000 Euros to produce every day. [BBC]
this makes me angry... do they really need that huge production? are you kidding me? i can't help but think about all the people that could use a fraction of that to survive. bono, you are a fucking hypocrite.
I know a bunch of people that were raving about the show... probably to justify their expensive tickets. I just don't get it.
relax douchebags. i have heard amazing things about their 360 tour, and I think Bono has done more for people in need than anyone reading this article. He is passionate about what he does, and cares more about music than he does about money. I think it's refreshing and admirable to see it in today's world. Kind of like Anne Leibovitz.

purple rain
yes purple rain, you really have a point there... so thought provoking... you sure put a lot of time into putting together that paragraph.
and how could you possibly KNOW what bono cares about? unless you are his friend. in real life. then you would, i guess...
Before more people jump on the ignorant bandwagon claiming U2 and Bono are hypocrytical, Bono doesn't have to try to make the world a better place. He has never claimed he is a perfect soul who has a poor life to draw attention to the plight of others. He is trying to bring others up, not drag the rest down. He said celebrity is a currency and he wants to use his well. If he didnt care about it all, he wouldnt bother. Google/research his achievements, read his book, then you will know the sheer scale of the extra work he does for humanitarian causes. His pressure on the Bush govt. itself has saved 200,000 African lives (minimum). How many have you saved?
Andrew
My comment was completely devoid of Bono bashing. I was just saying I wouldn't pay much for such a impersonal show.
Perhaps one shouldn't be so critical without seeing the show. It is fantastic and a testament to classic U2... Always there to please and draw attention to world injustices. No hypocrisy there. And BTW... I HAVE sat with them and talked at length about many issues. THey are quite real.
