If U2 has designs on maintaining (or reclaiming) its position as the world's most relevant rock band, No Line on the Horizon has to arrive with a little fanfare. Rather than aping Radiohead and offering a "pay what you want" option or remixing it for seventeen years a la Axl, Bono and company have gone decidely old school, and will be releasing five different album packages, each grander than the last. Those fans wanting the basic experience can buy No Line on the Horizon either as a CD or vinyl. The other three buying options, including an enviromentally friendly digital only album, come with photo retrospectives and a film by Anton Corbijn. Those not in it for Mother Nature can chose a either a "magazine" style release or a hard cover that comes with an exlcusive poster of the band. No Line on the Horizon is scheduled for release in the United States on March 9. [NME]
